United Women of Africa Organization(UWAO), is a not-for-profit organization based in Central New York whose mission is to provide a social support network for women of African origin residing in the area. Specifically, UWAO supports African women’s self-empowerment; the creation of a united, caring community that is mindful of the welfare of families; the enhancement of solidarity among members especially in times of need and the enrichment of the larger community in which we live – locally, nationally and intentionally.
